The Pokot people may not fit in with the tribes for whom this project was established but they do represent a lot of what Survival stands for. The Pokot need as much of our help as others do and it is for this reason that we are trying to raise awareness of West Pokot, the people and their need for education, medical care and, in general, our support to benefit their lives.
On the subject of Survival International and how I was made aware of them, they have recently become the beneficiary of an album entitled Bruce Parry presents Amazon Tribe - Songs for Survival. This contains songs especially written for the project by some of the music world's biggest names. It is also enthusiastically supported by Bruce Parry of the BBC Series' TRIBE and AMAZON.
